  • Michael McKenna - President

    As President, Michael is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of Togala Construction and ensures the company’s smooth operational procedures. With 30 years of construction industry experience, both nationally and internationally, Michael moved to Canada in 2013 from his native Ireland. Michael has held a wide range of roles throughout his career, including Project Engineer, Site Superintendent, Contracts Director, Director of Operations and Vice President/District Manager for one of Canada’s top five construction companies.

    His background and experience in the construction of various building types using different delivery models, provides detailed knowledge to our partners. This fuels his ability to expertly manage the challenges of any given project.

    Michael’s objective is to build client relationships, while executing projects to the highest standard of productivity and efficiency. His dedicated commitment to client satisfaction and exemplary business practices gives Togala Construction partners peace of mind that they are in exceptional hands. On your project, Michael will provide senior-level oversight and guidance to the team through design, pre-construction, project management, quality assurance, and safety. He will ensure that collaboration is at the forefront for all team members, and above all, Michael will take the necessary steps to plan for success.

  • Gavin Sands - Senior Project Manager

    With over 15 years of construction industry experience in both cost consulting and general contracting, Gavin brings leadership and oversight to our team. Prior to joining Togala, Gavin worked as a Senior Project Manager for one of Canada’s top 5 contractors.

    Gavin brings a wealth of experience to the Togala team. He has worked on, and managed, a wide range of projects throughout Western Canada. He has experience in many sectors including commercial, institutional, residential, and healthcare, and has used various methods of procurement. These include construction management, lump sum, and design-build/design-assist.

    As a qualified Quantity Surveyor, Gavin is extremely motivated to ensure projects are completed within the projected project budget, and on schedule.

  • Darren Doyle - Chief Estimator

    Darren began his career as a Quantity Surveyor with Ireland's largest general contractor in 2005. In 2013, Darren moved to Canada and has since worked as an Estimator with two of Canada’s top 5 general contractors. Working with these multinational companies has provided Darren with a vast array of diverse project experience under various contract types. This makes him very well-rounded in his field, with a wealth of knowledge in preconstruction and in on-site construction. Having worked on well over 100 projects to date, his experience is inclusive of residential, commercial, healthcare, institutional, industrial, and civil. The following are the various contract types under which Darren has executed work: construction management, stipulated sum, P3, IPD, and design-build.

    As Chief Estimator, Darren is responsible for conceptualizing and finalizing estimates, sub trade, material, and equipment procurement. He thrives on building relationships and collaborating with all project stakeholders to build a cohesive team, which ensures a successful project. Safety, quality, and constructability are Darren’s priorities throughout preconstruction, in tandem with finding the most competitive pricing for each scope in the market for our clients. Darren’s involvement remains constant throughout the construction process, to ensure consistency and continuity flows right through from preconstruction to project completion.
